From Alan E Smith - "I lived in Hedon East Yorks during the War and there was an Army Camp at the bottom of Ketwell Lane, which was later used as a POW Camp.My recollection is that at various times it housed Italians,Germans and Russians captured serving with the German Army. My father had Italian and German prisoners working with him on Johnsons farm and I am in possession of a letter from an Italian prisoner ,written to him after the war ,thanking him for the kindness shown him during his imprisonment. I also believe that the Russian prisoners were later sent back to Russia and were dealt with harshly by Stalin. I think other camps in the Hedon area also housed POWs and would be worth you researching." ИСТОЧНИК: http://www.kg6gb.org/pow_camps_in_uk_-_501_to_1045.htm УКРАИНЦЫ 1.
